The TALLHEDA project was presented by Smart Agro Hub during the 2nd Conference “Ecological Crisis & Economic Impacts: Adaptation, Innovation & Resilience”, held in Athens and organized by the School of Biosciences and the School of Business Administration of Aegean College. The event took place under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment & Energy and the Region of Attica.
This interdisciplinary conference brought together academics, researchers, policymakers, and industry representatives to discuss the growing challenges posed by the ecological and climate crisis, as well as its economic and social impacts. The discussions focused on pathways to adaptation, the role of innovation in building resilience, and the need for coordinated strategies across sectors.
During the session, Smart Agro Hub presented the TALLHEDA project as a leading example of how digital transformation and collaborative innovation can strengthen sustainability and competitiveness in the agrifood sector. The presentation highlighted:
The project’s focus on digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Digital Twins to enhance efficiency and traceability in agriculture.
The role of the Virtual Innovation Hub (VIH) as a collaborative digital space for sharing knowledge, research outputs, and training materials.
Ongoing training seminars, brainstorming visits, and staff mobility programs that empower young researchers, students, and agripreneurs with skills essential for the green and digital transition.
TALLHEDA’s participation in the conference underscored the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in addressing ecological and economic challenges, and in promoting innovation-driven solutions that support both environmental sustainability and rural development.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and foster synergies between academic institutions, public authorities, and innovation networks, contributing to a broader dialogue on resilient and sustainable economic growth in the face of environmental change.
