TALLHEDA at PrecAgri4All Launch Conference!

On 20 May 2026, TALLHEDA was presented at the Launch Conference of PrecAgri4All, hosted by AKMI International in Athens. The event marked the official start of a new EU-funded initiative working to bring precision agriculture training and digital tools to farming communities in Ukraine and Georgia — and provided a timely opportunity for TALLHEDA to showcase how advanced education and research excellence can underpin the future of digital and precision agriculture in Europe and beyond.

PrecAgri4All is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building project with a clear and urgent mission: to empower smallholder farmers through Precision Agriculture training, bridging the technology gap in Ukraine and Georgia by integrating modern precision agriculture skills, tools, and methodologies into agricultural education and practice. The project addresses one of the most persistent structural barriers facing agricultural transformation in these countries — the disconnect between the advanced digital tools available to commercial farming operations and the limited technical capacity and educational infrastructure accessible to smallholders, who represent the majority of the farming population in both countries.

TALLHEDA's presentation at the Launch Conference highlighted the complementarity between the two projects and the broader European vision of connecting research excellence with practical capacity building. Where PrecAgri4All focuses on the transfer of precision agriculture competences to underserved farming communities in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, TALLHEDA has been building the institutional alliances, educational frameworks, citizen science protocols, and digital agriculture training resources — across Higher Education Institutions in Greece, Serbia, and Belgium — that can serve as a concrete model and reference for this kind of transformation. TALLHEDA's experience in developing standardised data collection methodologies, modular training frameworks, and multi-actor partnerships between universities, research centres, and agricultural communities offers a replicable blueprint for projects working in similar capacity-building contexts.

The Launch Conference brought together partners, stakeholders, and invited projects to discuss the ambitions and approach of PrecAgri4All, share relevant experiences from the wider EU project ecosystem, and identify synergies that could strengthen both the evidence base and the practical impact of the initiative. TALLHEDA's participation reflects its active commitment to cross-project collaboration as a core element of its Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation strategy — ensuring that the knowledge, tools, and frameworks developed within the consortium reach and benefit a much wider community than the formal partnership alone.

AKMI International, the host institution and a partner in both projects, played a key convening role in bringing together these aligned initiatives and creating a space for the kind of cross-fertilisation of ideas and approaches that characterises the best of EU-funded collaborative research.
