TALLHEDA was proudly highlighted at the 17th Annual International Conference of Education, Research, and Innovation (ICERI 2024). This year’s event was held in Seville, Spain, from November 11th to 13th, gathering global experts, educators, and researchers to share insights and innovative practices in education. The TALLHEDA team presented the project's advancements through a compelling abstract submission and presentation, emphasizing the critical role of higher education in fostering digital skills for the agriculture sector.
Abstract Focus: Assessing Needs for Improvement in Digital Agriculture Education
Under the title “Assessing the Needs for Improvement of Higher Education in Digital Agriculture: A Questionnaire for Higher Education Institutions”, TALLHEDA’s presentation highlighted the pressing need to modernize digital agriculture curricula and teaching methods in higher education. The project aims to bridge the gap between traditional agricultural education and the growing demands of a digitalized industry. As such, the TALLHEDA team has developed a comprehensive questionnaire designed to assess current educational practices and identify areas requiring improvement, directly informed by feedback from partner institutions.
This abstract submission attracted significant attention, addressing core topics such as digital literacy, technological adoption, and the need for interdisciplinary approaches in agricultural education. The questionnaire tool is designed to provide a foundation for creating responsive, innovative, and high-quality programs that equip students with the knowledge and skills to thrive in a digitally transformed agriculture sector.
