ABSTRACT
Data traceability in the agri-food supply chain is a crucial factor for ensuring product quality and safety. This thesis investigates the feasibility of developing a small-scale data traceability system for the cultivation and distribution of potatoes, utilizing blockchain technology. The aim of the research is to assess the effectiveness of a decentralized and secure data recording method that ensures transparency and trust throughout the supply chain. The methodology is based on a systematic literature review following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) protocol, in order to identify best practices and challenges related to the application of blockchain in agriculture. The expected outcomes include the documentation of technical and operational parameters for designing a pilot traceability system, as well as highlighting the benefits, such as increased transparency and fraud prevention, and the limitations concerning technical complexity, cost, and interoperability. This study aims to contribute to the improvement of traceability and transparency in the agri-food sector, offering directions for the practical implementation of blockchain technology in agricultural data management.
