The TALLHEDA project was presented during the 32nd Conference of the Hellenic Society for Horticultural Science, held from October 20 to 23, 2025, at the Valis Hotel in Agria, Volos. The event was organized in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Crop Production, and Rural Environment of the University of Thessaly.

The central theme of the conference, “Horticultural Science as a Pillar for Sustainability and the Adaptation of Agricultural Production Systems to Emerging Environmental and Climate Challenges,” emphasized the critical role of innovation and technology in ensuring sustainable agricultural development.

During the event, a presentation was delivered on behalf of TALLHEDA titled:“Artificial Intelligence in Smart Agriculture: Disease Detection and Yield Prediction in Strawberry Cultivation.”

In addition, two e-poster presentations were shared, stemming from undergraduate research projects:

  • “Comparative Evaluation of Artificial Intelligence Tools for Supporting Beekeeping Education” by E. Kondali

ree

  • “Blockchain and the Internet of Things in the Strawberry Supply Chain: A Case Study on Temperature Traceability” by Z. Lamprogiannaki

These contributions demonstrated how digital and emerging technologies are being integrated into the agri-food sector, fostering innovation and sustainability—key pillars of the TALLHEDA project.

The full Book of Abstracts is available here.

Through this participation, TALLHEDA continues to promote digital innovation, applied research, and knowledge exchange in horticultural science, aligning with the project’s mission to support the digital transition of the agrifood sector.
