TALLHEDA Joined Forces with ENABLS!

Updated: Nov 5

The TALLHEDA and ENABLS projects are pleased to announce a new partnership focused on building environmental sustainability and biodiversity into digital agriculture and higher education across Europe. By combining TALLHEDA’s digital agriculture expertise with ENABLS’s mission to embed Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and biodiversity preservation into learning and practice, this collaboration aims to create a more resilient, nature-positive future for Europe’s agricultural and educational sectors.

TALLHEDA, a Horizon Europe project, is developing a long-term Alliance for Digital Agriculture among Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) in Greece and Serbia, in partnership with leading agricultural universities and stakeholders in Belgium. The project’s objectives include cultivating highly skilled scientists and establishing a vibrant innovation ecosystem in digital agriculture, driven by a Quadruple Helix approach that brings together academia, industry, government, and society.

ENABLS, also a Horizon Europe initiative, is dedicated to promoting biodiversity and Nature-Based Solutions through capacity building, transdisciplinary learning, and a Whole Institution Approach across Europe. By establishing “Living Labs” in seven countries, including Germany, Greece, and the Netherlands, ENABLS creates platforms for hands-on, collaborative learning in NBS, engaging universities, vocational schools, professionals, and the broader community to address biodiversity loss and support climate resilience.

The collaboration between TALLHEDA and ENABLS will bring NBS principles directly into digital agriculture education, fostering environmentally sustainable practices and biodiversity-conscious approaches. Together, the projects will work to enhance curricula, promote experiential learning, and provide farmers, students, and professionals with the skills needed to address climate challenges while supporting biodiversity. By promoting a Whole Institution Approach, the partnership encourages universities to become “Living Labs” for sustainable innovation, benefiting both local ecosystems and agricultural communities.

This joint initiative underscores the commitment of TALLHEDA and ENABLS to creating an inclusive, sustainable, and knowledge-driven agriculture sector in Europe. The projects will share resources, conduct collaborative activities, and update stakeholders on progress through their respective websites as they continue to advance the adoption of NBS and digital agriculture across Europe.
