At the end of June 2024, Smart Agro Hub showcased the innovative TALLHEDA project during a study visit hosted by IEK AKMI as part of the Erasmus+ Project "CultiVETing." This event highlighted the critical role of sustainability in the agrifood sector, focusing on its importance for the future of both the planet and humanity. The visit aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in sustainable agricultural practices, promoting environmentally friendly methods and education to advance the sector's transformation. The CultiVETing project, in particular, emphasizes the integration of vocational education and training (VET) in developing skills crucial for sustainability.
The CultiVETing (Cultivating Entrepreneurship in the Agrifood Sector through VET) project focuses on addressing the disconnect between the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and labor market needs in the AgriFood sector in the Western Balkans. Aligning with the broader goals of the Erasmus+ program, the project seeks to create an environment that fosters the development of vocational clusters, promoting local socio-economic growth through social entrepreneurship.
It aims to make VET offerings more accessible, inclusive, and of higher quality, with a focus on business and entrepreneurship-based education that is responsive to the evolving demands of the local labor markets in the AgriFood sector. This sector is crucial not only for the economy and sustainability of Europe but also for the ecosystems of the Western Balkans, making the project a strategic initiative for regional development.
