On 22 April 2026, Smart Agro Hub represented the TALLHEDA project at an informative seminar on European funding and proposal development, hosted by InnovinAgri — the Office of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer of the Agricultural University of Athens — and led by Katerina Papadouli, Head of InnovinAgri.
The seminar, held from 12:00 to 14:00 at the AUA campus, was addressed to students of all levels and early-career researchers, and focused on the practical aspects of writing and participating in EU-funded research programmes. Topics covered included the rules for writing successful Horizon Europe proposals, conditions for researchers' participation in funded programmes, research ethics from proposal design through to implementation, Open Data in research, and the use and valorisation of research results.
Smart Agro Hub's participation provided a concrete, real-world illustration of what a successfully funded Horizon Europe project looks like in practice. Through the TALLHEDA example, attendees were able to see how a multi-partner consortium operates across widening and non-widening countries, how project activities are structured and delivered, and how communication, dissemination, and exploitation are managed throughout the project lifecycle. The presentation underscored the value of EU funding not only as a financial instrument but as a vehicle for building lasting alliances between Higher Education Institutions, research centres, and private sector innovators in digital agriculture.
InnovinAgri operates within the framework of the Special Account for Research Funds of the Agricultural University of Athens and supports innovation and entrepreneurship activities stemming from the educational and research activities of the institution — making it a natural and strategic venue for TALLHEDA to share its experience with the next generation of researchers and project professionals.
The event reflects TALLHEDA's broader commitment to knowledge transfer and capacity building beyond the formal consortium: by engaging with students and early-career academics at the project's coordinating institution, Smart Agro Hub contributed directly to building the Horizon Europe literacy and proposal-writing skills that will sustain EU research participation in Greek agricultural science in the years ahead.
